SPM 2013 Modern Maths Paper 1 Answers

2013 SPM Maths 1449/1 Answers (aka Modern Maths, Paper 1):

For Modern Maths, Q 28 is considered interesting. Its answer is B (Ooops dictation and typo error: The correct answer should be D (not B)! B will produce a straight line graph y = -x passing through the origin; whereas D will produce the hyperbolic curves as shown in the question.). 

If not because of this Q 28, my 'dearest disciple' would have obtained perfect score. Two months ago, when her scores in school's final trials were known, I wasn't very happy. And now, 39/40 for Paper 1 (if the above answers are the same as the examiners'), then I can't be unhappy! Similarly, for her Physics, Chemistry and Add Maths... :) (Update, 20/3/2014: SPM results are out today: She obtained A+ for her Modern Maths, English and Sejarah (History); A for Physics and Add. Maths, A- for Chemistry, Bio and BM. No subject B or below)

So folks (entering Form 5 or Form 4 in 2014): If you do not do as well as you would like in your final trial exams - mark my words: DON"T GIVE-UP. Get help immediately!

In just two months or so, from final trials to actual SPM exams, you can still make a big BIG difference "if you put in intensive effort with the help of a competent mentor!". A boy with single-digit marks in Physics in school's final trial was helped about 4 years ago to finally obtain B+ in SPM - that shows that it is possible if you don't give-up!

Never give up! 

But why put yourself in such a risky "last-minute" pressurised situations when you can easily enjoy your study by doing your work from Day 1? From Day 1, aim for full As, get actively involved 1 or 2 leadership positions and excel in 1 or 2 sports, you should be happy 2 years thereafter...
